While planning the new edition of the pop-up shop, we decided to adapt the format following the events in Ukraine, and try to at least in some way help artists who decide to immigrate to Split. Our possibilities, as a small organization in culture, are not huge, but we believe that with your help and cooperation with other creatives in Croatia, we can provide valuable assistance to artists.

 

The concept remains the same - we promote selected small businesses, artists and creatives, and their products are accompanied with events during which you will have the opportunity to learn something new and meet with the creators. 

 

Our part of the revenue (30% of sales) this year we are fully investing in our emergency fund. We will use the Fund to host artists from Ukraine: 

 

• we offer temporary residence within the space (we can host max. 2 artists at the same time);

• assistance in finding permanent accommodation in Split; 

• free workspace (open studio and co-working);

• material for work; 

• integration assistance…

 

Thanks to contacts with Ukrainian curators, cultural workers and organizations, we will be able to spread the word about the possibilities for this type of assistance to artists who may already be in the Republic of Croatia. The long-term plan is to use the Fund to support refugee artists coming to Croatia regardless of their country of origin.

 

Our pop-up shop starts on April 8 with a couple of selected products, and it will last until 21st of May. Hereby we are opening the call for all other artists, creators and small entrepreneurs in Croatia to join the action. The condition is that at least 30% of the product sales go to the CHC Fund. We are investing all the collected funds into providing material for work and hosting Ukrainian duo Morra Ceramics in Split, in August 2022.
