Discover the art of Junk Journaling, a creative practice that transforms everyday scraps and found materials into a personalized, handmade journal. From old books and vintage paper to postcards, tickets and fabrics, you will learn how to transform objects into a unique visual journal that documents your thoughts, feelings and experiences. The workshop provides a space for creativity, mindfulness and experimentation with techniques such as collage, mixed media and painting. No previous experience or artistic talent is required. Participants can bring their own journals, or purchase a journal from the Space, and all other materials including magazines, fabrics, paper and all necessary tools are provided. The workshop is led by Mare Sundar, who, given her engineering background, brings a unique, analytical perspective to her creative practice, combining structure and spontaneity. Mare’s art demonstrates her ability to experiment with different media. Exploring collage, she reveals how this medium allows her to express intimate experiences that observational drawing has only hinted at.
